Forty Winks is “serious about sleep” and we’ve made it our mission to help you rest easy by not only providing high quality products, but also doing business responsibly. We live up to this by caring for people, communities, and the planet whilst holding ourselves to the highest ethical standards. As an Australian owned and operated franchise business deeply entrenched in the Australian community that’s supporting many livelihoods, we recognise greater action needs to be taken to minimise our environmental impact on the planet in order to help our communities thrive and create a sustainable future. Through consultation with our team, customers and business stakeholders, we have evaluated our responsibilities and opportunities to define our 2025 sustainability strategy. This has shaped our framework comprised of three key pillars: People, Planet, and Corporate Citizenship. We have devised nine focus areas and a set of 18 targets within these areas to guide our way of doing business. This will be a transformative journey that requires a collaborative effort with our franchisees and suppliers. Whilst we know some of these targets are ambitious, we’re up for the challenge and excited by the momentum and focus it will generate within our team. Furthermore, we will be open, transparent and committed to strengthening and updating this strategy as we continue to learn and evolve.

PEOPLE: Empower people in our business and community

Helping you rest easy means ensuring that people in our business and supply chain are being treated with care and respect, creating a safe work environment and nurturing diversity, equality, and knowledge so all can thrive. At the same time, we strive to empower our community of suppliers and franchisees to achieve continued success in a sustainable way, and seek to explore our relationship with Indigenous communities.

PLANET: Reduce our environmental impact

At our core, we aim to improve lives through a better night’s sleep. However, we will not just focus on the science around achieving this, but also on reducing the environmental impact of the products we sell. We will do this by reducing carbon emissions in our operations and supply chain, switching to green energy, and driving continuous innovation and circularity in materials and product end-of-life.

CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP: Drive change in our sphere of influence

We are aware that Forty Winks’ impact and influence extends beyond our business operations and supply chain, and that we have the ability and responsibility to drive change in our local communities and with our key stakeholders. That’s why we are supporting the setup of a successful product stewardship scheme for mattresses and to educate our customers and suppliers on sustainable consumption to inspire eco-friendly practices and lasting behavioural change.
