Care Instructions

Dry cleaning recommended

If your quilt is made from cotton, wool or a renewable fibre such as Suprelle® Blue, it can easily be machine-washed and (normally) tumble dried, though you should always check the care label for specific instructions. Due to the density of some quilts, it’s best to wash them by themselves. Quilts need room to gently agitate in the machine for a good and proper clean, uninhibited by additional items. When wet, quilts can also become quite heavy. Keep an eye on the wash cycle, as you may have to re-position the quilt mid-wash to rebalance the weight, especially in top-loading machines. Many modern washing machines have dedicated cycles for washing quilts, so look out for those settings on your machine. Importantly, thoroughly dry your quilt before putting: it back on your bed or into storage. Quilts still slightly damp can be a breeding ground for mould and mildew. If you can air dry your quilt in sunlight, this is ideal as the sun can naturally help kill bacteria.

Bedding Buying Guide

Please keep in mind the use of under blankets, comforters and electric blankets can alter the feel of your mattress and therefore your experience. If you are concerned about the performance of your mattress, and you are using any of these bedding items, we suggest trying your new mattress without these additions and see if there is a difference in how your mattress feels. The warmth rating of your bedding may have an effect on the temperature of your sleeping environment while on your mattress. If you are a warmer sleeper, using bedding with features that allow it to breathe better or bedding with a cooler warmth rating may assist in keeping you more comfortable while sleeping.

Australian Made

Our Australian made Alpaca fibre quilt combines 100% Australian Alpaca fibres with a breathable cotton sateen cover, creating bedding that’s naturally warm, lightweight, and comfortable across all seasons. Australian Alpaca fibre is sustainably sourced from ethically raised animals. The fibre grows back each year, making it a renewable resource, and requires minimal processing compared with synthetic fibres. Alpacas have a low environmental impact—they require little water and food compared with other livestock, and their grazing habits are gentle on the land.

Circular Materials

The fibres are naturally hypoallergenic, moisture-wicking, and temperature-regulating, keeping you cosy in winter and comfortably cool in summer. The quilt is lightweight yet durable, maintaining its softness and loft over time, and the cotton sateen cover adds an extra layer of smooth, breathable comfort. At the end of its life, Alpaca fibre is fully biodegradable, breaking down naturally and returning nutrients to the soil. This makes the quilt part of a circular lifecycle, from sustainably grown fibres to responsible end-of-life decomposition, helping reduce waste and environmental impact. Choosing an Alpaca fibre quilt means choosing Australian craftsmanship, responsibly sourced Australian fibres, and bedding designed to be practical, long-lasting, and kind to both you and the environment.
