The Council supports Australia's commitment to achieve net zero by 2050 and 43% below 2005 levels by 2030.

Critical minerals strategy

The Council advocates for Australia to include bauxite, alumina, and aluminium as critical minerals to capitalise on its wealth of resources and leverage opportunities under the National Renewable Energy Supply Chain Action Plan for Australian aluminium to be used in the development of renewable energy technologies.
