The bank has fortified its Sustainability Strategy by incorporating management of environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria and complies with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). Banco de Chile's Sustainability Strategy is based on ESG criteria and incorporates ESG variables in financing decisions to ensure compliance with current legislation and sustainability over time.

ESG bonds issuance

In 2023, Banco de Chile issued the first two ESG bonds under the Sustainable Finance Framework for US$ 85 million, to promote gender equality and finance companies and enterprises led by women.

Sustainability Financing Framework

Developed a Sustainability Financing Framework for the issuance of green, social or ESG bonds. The Sustainability Financing Working Group oversees the evaluation and selection of eligible assets and manages social and environmental considerations.
