Founded in 1985, Cooperative Home Care Associates (CHCA) is a worker-owned cooperative based in the Bronx, New York. Initially starting with just 12 home health care providers, it now employs over 2050 staff, primarily Latina and African-American women, making it the largest worker cooperative in the United States. CHCA is committed to transforming the economic challenges faced by unemployed women into sustainable opportunities, simultaneously enhancing the quality of care for thousands of low-income city residents.
