Planet Protector is on a mission to create solutions that give waste streams a new life.
Founded in 2016 by Female Founder, Joanne Howarth, an award-winning entrepreneur, Planet Protector is on a mission to create solutions that give waste streams a new life. With beginnings in cold-chain packaging, Planet Protector’s disruptive innovation, WOOLPACK has won global acclaim for its sustainability and Innovation. Circular in Design it is made from 100% Australian wool, wool from cross bred sheep being raised for their meat, rather than their fleece. This wool is not suitable for textiles and is ordinarily destined for landfill. Planet Protector has monetised this waste stream to generate new revenues for Australian sheep farmers and support rural communities. WOOLPACK is the sustainable alternative to EPS, with superior thermal performance it is redefining food and pharmaceutical supply-chains across Oceania and now, India and Singapore. Off the back of a successful $12 million Series A, Planet Protector established the most advanced fibre-processing facility in the Southern Hemisphere. Equipped with cutting-edge European automation, it has the capability to process 150 tonnes of fibre weekly. Planet Protector has reinstated sovereign manufacturing and is now poised to scale their impact internationally across Asia Pacific and into new verticals. In 2025, Planet Protector is the new force in building circularity, transforming Australia’s landfill-bound textile, construction and plastic waste into high-performance products for the building, packaging, and furniture industries. They have closed the loop, enabling the recycling and repurposing of building materials, delivering solutions that allow complete product recovery at end-of-life.
