The organization has built constructive links of cooperation between relevant actors worldwide and continues to advocate the benefits of a strong railway system. UIC publishes regular sustainability reports documenting how railways are implementing environmental, social and governance action in their businesses.

The UIC Sustainable Land Use Sector serves as a global centre of excellence, fostering synergies between safe and reliable railway infrastructure and positive land use outcomes.

Circular Economy Integration

The Circular Economy Sector has been set up to help find ways to integrate the principles of the circular economy into the way railways are designed, built, and operated.
