Up to 75% of a mattress's components can be recycled using this service. Timber is turned into kindling, weed matting, mulch, acoustic paneling, and even animal bedding Foams are repurposed into flooring underlays, plastics and cardboard. And springs are sent to scrap metal recyclers to be turned into roofing iron. In areas where this service is unavailable, many local councils offer recycling programs for mattresses and bed bases.
