Published Benefit Corporation report

Allagash Benefit Corporation Report 2025 ... This will be our seventh Benefit Corporation report.

Paid volunteer time

16 hours of individual paid volunteer time per year to each employee at an organization that is important to each individual (including peaceful protest for climate or racial justice,) as well as opportunity to participate in company sponsored volunteer outings and efforts at regular pay.

Green commute reimbursement

We offer reimbursement for those using public transportation, or bicycling to work.

Clean water advocacy

As we continue to see the craft beer segment grow, we as brewers owe it to the communities we live, work and play in to be mindful of protecting our waterways as we strive for growth that is environmentally and socially responsible now and down the road.

Local grain sourcing

From sourcing nearly 2 million pounds of Maine-grown grain, to recycling over 40 tons of waste, to reinvesting in employees through sabbaticals and profit-sharing, they embed equity and sustainability into every layer of the business.

Water and waste reduction

The Portland-based brewery recently achieved B Corp recertification with a 20-point increase in its Impact Score. This milestone reflects its dedication to environmental responsibility, from water conservation and waste reduction to local sourcing and community engagement. A standout initiative is its efficient resource management—using nearly half the industry’s average water per gallon of beer and diverting 99.8% of its waste from landfills.
