Amcor Sustainability Actions

Published recent sustainability reports

Amcor publishes annual sustainability reports and makes several years of reports available online, including 2022 through 2025. It also shares older reports and summary documents. This shows the company is reporting on its sustainability work over time rather than treating it as a one-off update. The reports are meant to cover its progress on packaging design, emissions, recycled content, and other environmental topics.

Expanded recycle-ready packaging

Amcor says it has developed recycle-ready options for most of its flexible packaging range and that a large share of its packaging by weight is designed for recyclability. It also highlights products such as AmPrima, AmLite, and AmSky that are meant to be easier to recycle or use less material. In plain terms, the company is trying to make packaging that can be reused in existing recycling systems more easily.

Cut operational emissions

Amcor reports that it reduced greenhouse gas emissions from its own operations by 20% over four years. It also says renewable electricity now makes up 30% of its total energy use, after a 100% increase in that area during FY25. Greenhouse gas emissions are the gases that trap heat in the atmosphere, so lowering them is a key part of climate action.

Increased recycled plastic use

Amcor says it reached its target of using 10% post-consumer recycled plastic by FY25, equal to 218,000 metric tons. Post-consumer recycled plastic, often called PCR, is material made from items people have already used and thrown away. The company also says it is working to raise recycled content further as part of its circular economy approach.

Joined circular economy initiative

Amcor says it is a signatory to the Ellen MacArthur Foundation 2030 Plastics Agenda for Business. The Ellen MacArthur Foundation is a nonprofit that promotes a circular economy, which means keeping materials in use for as long as possible instead of throwing them away. As part of this, Amcor says it is working toward 15% PCR use by 2030.

Improved waste and water performance

Amcor reports that 75% of its operational waste was recycled in FY25 and that several site projects helped reduce water use. This suggests the company is trying to lower the impact of its own factories and sites, not just the packaging it sells. Waste recycling and water savings are both common parts of environmental management in manufacturing.
