American Vintage Sustainability Actions

Focus on natural materials

Fabrics have always played a key role in the design of our clothes. That's why, for several seasons now, we've focused on using noble, natural materials.

Cotton composition in 2023-2024

Over the autumn-winter 2023-2024 season, cotton represented 43% of the composition of our clothes with: conventional cotton 64%, cotton, all organic 18%, cotton, of which 20% to 70% of the fibres are recycled 15%, Supima® cotton 4%.

Mineral dyeing used in lines

Mineral dyeing is a method that uses only natural elements derived from minerals found in the earth to create colour. This method is used in the VEGIFLOWER and DEVON lines. To soften the clothes, we use products that contain aloe vera vegetable oil.

Water reuse in denim

Over 50% of our denim clothes are made in a factory that reuses water - continuously - for washes.

Repair and alteration service

Today, the artisans at Tilli can alter and repair your AMV favourites.

Annual ECOCERT audit

Since 2023, American Vintage has been conducting an annual audit with ECOCERT GREENLIFE. The result: certifications GOTS, OCS, RWS, GRS & RCS under licence number 00279937 – SARL AARON.

Production in Euro-Mediterranean region

81,9% of the number of American Vintage items of clothing are produced in the Euro-Mediterranean region. The company says it takes care to select its partners as close as possible to its design workshops in the South of France, and that this has been the case since it was founded in 2005.
