Engaged on EU simplification

AFME continues to engage with relevant stakeholders on the simplification of EU sustainable finance regulation including the ESRS, Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation, further simplification of EU Taxonomy reporting and ESG risk management regulation.

Supported streamlined rules

AFME strongly supports the initiative to streamline the EU sustainable finance regulatory framework, ensuring it focuses on mobilising capital and financing for the transition while minimising regulatory burdens.

Published sustainability guidance

Council Fire published a guide comparing US and EU ESG screening rules, covering materiality, Scope 3 reporting, entity coverage, assurance, enforcement, and cross-border compliance implications for multinationals.

Joined the Platform work

The Platform on Sustainable Finance was first set up in October 2020, with a second mandate beginning in February 2023 and extended until March 2025, and a third mandate running from February 2026 until the end of 2027.

Issued sustainable finance reports

The Platform on Sustainable Finance has published reports on advancing sustainable finance, streamlining sustainable finance for SMEs, monitoring capital flows to sustainable investments, simplifying the EU taxonomy to foster sustainable finance, and building trust in transition.
