Aztech Mountain Sustainability Actions

Introduced recycled nylons

For Fall 2021, Aztech Mountain brought a renewed focus on sustainability, partnering with Dyntex to bring forth Global Recycle Standard (GRS) certified nylons throughout its technical ski collection and mirrored this initiative throughout its mid-layer assortment, now produced from recycled plastic bottles.

Redesigned fleece program

The company says its core technical nylon is now a Global Recycled Standard (GRS) certified 4-way stretch, waterproof and breathable recycled nylon. It has also redesigned its fleece program based upon a GRS certified fleece textile.

Uses traceable down

Aztech Mountain says it never procures down in which duck or geese have been force fed or live plucked and that its down is 100% traceable. Its down programs continue to utilize RDS and traceable down fill.

Rejects mulesing

Aztech Mountain states that practices like mulesing that cause harm are never permitted by its suppliers and its suppliers are committed to never posing a risk of injury to the sheep.

Supports Protect Our Winters

In 2019, Aztech Mountain partnered with photographer Kate Holstein and Protect Our Winters (POW), a nonprofit environmental advocacy group. From November 20 through December 7, 15% of all full-price sales were donated to POW to support its mission.

Offers repairs for garments

Aztech Mountain says that if something on a garment breaks, it will work with customers to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner. For garments purchased within the prior 365 days, it covers the cost of repairs that are a result of manufacturer imperfections or failures.
