BCOME Sustainability Actions

Piloted lifecycle assessments

Tom Tailor strengthened supply chain traceability with Retraced and piloted lifecycle assessments with BCome. The brand’s sustainability journey began in earnest in 2020, and sustainability became one of the four key pillars of its strategy, alongside people, brand, and product.

Onboarded suppliers to tracing

Within three months, Tom Tailor onboarded 80 Tier 1 suppliers and 160 Tier 2 suppliers onto the Retraced platform, achieving a total onboarding rate of 100%. The implementation aimed to achieve transparency across the supply chain down to raw material level and to ensure compliance with the Due Diligence Act and other upcoming regulations.

Added QR codes to labels

Since April 2024, Tom Tailor has implemented Retraced’s QR codes on every product’s wash care label, detailing each product’s journey. The brand said it was preparing to include all data that may be required in the future.

Traced products to raw materials

Tom Tailor started tracing on purchase order level in early 2024 and has already traced 17% of more than 5,000 purchase orders to the raw material level and a further 13% to yarn level. Tracing for these purchase orders is still ongoing.

Used Better Cotton and amfori BSCI

Some initiatives were already in place before 2020: Tom Tailor was a member of Better Cotton and a member of amfori BSCI to ensure its supply chain was audited and its suppliers committed to its code of conduct.
