Benning Boutique/Collections Sustainability Actions

Switched to compostable packaging

Beginning Boutique says it changed its parcel packaging to 100% compostable materials in 2019. It also says it wants packaging to be Australian made, compostable, and carbon neutral, meaning the delivery emissions are balanced out through climate projects. The brand encourages customers to find a local composter for the mailers. This is a packaging change aimed at cutting waste and lowering the impact of shipping.

Uses recycled and lower-impact materials

The brand says its 9.0 Swim collections now include recycled fabrics and carry a BB Conscious badge. It also says it is working toward more sustainable options in its own-brand range by using more natural fibres in clothing and eco-friendly metals in accessories. These changes are meant to reduce the impact of materials used in products, although the page does not give full product-by-product details.

Works with ethical audits

BENNI says all of its manufacturing partners operate under current SMETA (Sedex Members Ethical Trade Audit) certifications. SMETA is an audit method that checks labour, health and safety, environmental, and business ethics practices. The brand says this is part of its effort to support fair and safe working conditions across its supply chain, and it describes long-term supplier relationships as part of that approach.

Reduced waste through reuse

Beginning Boutique says it has put recycling and upcycling programs in place and has used excess and old stock for donations and repurposing. It says it has worked with Thread Together, which redistributes clothing to people in need, and has also donated to the Endeavour Foundation and Link Vision. The brand says these efforts have kept more than 3,680 kilograms of clothing out of landfill, which it says is equal to more than 13,800 garments.

Moved to green energy and solar

Beginning Boutique says it switched its electricity use to green energy at the end of 2018 and later installed solar power at its warehouse. It also says it is trying to monitor and reduce electricity use in its office and warehouse. These steps are meant to cut emissions from day-to-day operations, especially in the parts of the business that use the most power.

Supports community donations

The brand says it will donate 1% of annual profits to people in need and will give charity partners space on its social channels. It also says it has made donations to community organisations that support people with disabilities. This is a social impact action rather than a product change, and it shows the brand linking its business to community support.
