Signed garment safety accords

Best & Less is listed as a signatory to the International Accord for Health and Safety in the Textile & Garment Industry, and it has also signed the Pakistan Accord. These agreements are meant to improve factory safety in clothing supply chains. Signatories must disclose factories, support inspections and repairs, and help pay for safety work where needed. This matters because garment supply chains can be risky for workers if factories are not properly checked.

Improved packaging reporting

The company received a packaging performance level of 3 out of 5, called Advanced, in APCO's 2026 annual report. APCO, the Australian Packaging Covenant Organisation, is a group that tracks how companies manage packaging and move toward a circular economy, which means keeping materials in use for longer and reducing waste. This score suggests the company has made some progress on packaging management, though it is not at the top level.

Invested in renewable electricity

Greenpeace's Reenergise campaign says the company has committed to using 100% renewable electricity by 2030, signed at least one power purchase agreement, and invested in on-site solar. A power purchase agreement is a long-term contract to buy electricity from a wind or solar project. These steps show the company has started to shift its operations toward cleaner energy, although the full target is still in the future.

Published supplier and policy detail

Fashion Revolution's 2023 Fashion Transparency Index gave brands owned by the company a score of 76 out of 100. The index checks how much a brand shares about its suppliers, policies, and future goals. A score this high suggests the company publishes more detail than many fashion retailers, especially on human rights and environmental topics. That said, transparency does not by itself prove strong performance in practice.
