Set up a sustainability committee

In 2021, Vinci Compass created a Sustainability Committee that reports directly to the Board of Directors. The company says this helped make sustainability a formal part of its governance, rather than a side project. It also says the committee helped prepare its first Sustainability Report, which was published in 2022 and covered 2021. This shows that the company began putting structure around how it manages environmental, social, and governance issues.

Published sustainability reports

Vinci Compass says it has published sustainability reports for 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025. These reports are meant to show how the company is handling environmental, social, and governance topics over time. It also says it reports on its progress and is audited. Regular reporting matters because it gives outside readers a way to track whether the company is following through on its ESG plans.

Neutralised office emissions

In 2024, Vinci Compass says it kept its plan to neutralise greenhouse gas emissions from its office operations in Brazil. It says it prepared emissions inventories for scopes 1, 2, and part of scope 3. Scope 1 means direct emissions from things the company owns or controls, scope 2 means emissions from purchased electricity, and scope 3 covers other indirect emissions in the value chain. The company says it offset the remaining emissions by buying carbon credits through the Legado das Águas Project.

Earned LEED Silver for HQ

Vinci Compass says its Rio de Janeiro headquarters has LEED Silver certification. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is a green building standard from the U.S. Green Building Council. The company says the building design covers systems such as electricity, heating and cooling, plumbing, and automation, with the aim of cutting energy use and reducing waste of drinking water. This suggests the office was designed with lower resource use in mind.

Added renewable power and mobility

Vinci Compass says it generates solar photovoltaic power in ParaĂba do Sul, in partnership with Axis RenovĂĄveis, to supply its Rio de Janeiro headquarters and some real estate portfolio companies. It also says it has bicycle infrastructure at its Rio de Janeiro headquarters and SĂŁo Paulo office. These steps point to lower-carbon energy use and more active travel options for staff.

Expanded gender equity actions

Vinci Compass says it runs several gender equity initiatives, including the Vinci por Elas program, a female-only recruitment pool, and support for the Women on Board seal. It says the seal is an independent initiative that recognises organisations with at least two women on their boards or advisory boards. The company also says it offers extra parental leave benefits, mothers' rooms in all offices, and a women's health programme. These actions focus on workplace inclusion and support for employees.

Received EcoVadis Silver

VINCI Energies Netherlands says it is assessed every year by EcoVadis, a platform that rates companies on environmental, social, and governance practices across 21 topics. It says the company received a Silver rating, which places it among the top 15% of firms in the EcoVadis database. The areas highlighted include ethical business, human rights, labour relations, a future-proof living environment, and a sustainable supply chain.
