Responsible Sourcing Policy

The Responsible Sourcing Policy illustrates our dedication to bringing about more transparency with regard to the social, ethical and environmental complexities of our supply chains and when managing our relationships with our suppliers. This Responsible Sourcing Policy ensures that ethics are maintained within every product that Bucherer sources and creates under the Bucherer name.

Supplier Code of Conduct

We set requirements and expectations for our suppliers to ensure that they share our commitment to responsible sourcing. We require our suppliers, when working with Bucherer, to act in a manner consistent with the Bucherer Supplier Code of Conduct and expect them to adopt a similar policy within their own business.

Risk-based due diligence

We have a framework and action plan for identifying and managing risks associated with our suppliers, from supplier due diligence, selection and monitoring, through to disengagement. The due diligence process addresses supplier risks associated with regulatory compliance, abuse of human rights, child labour, health and safety, environmental impacts and the risks associated with Annex II of the OECD Guidance.

Modern slavery statements

In addition to our Supplier Code of Conduct, Bucherer has also published the UK Modern Slavery Act Statement and the California Transparency in Supply Chains statement.

Integrity Line reporting

We make reporting channels (e.g. the Bucherer Integrity Line) available to our suppliers to raise concerns (including anonymously) regarding compliance with the Supplier Code of Conduct and our policies. The Bucherer Integrity Line is available to employees, contractors and external parties.

Supplier termination rights

If we become aware of facts or circumstances that, in our reasonable determination, indicate that a supplier has breached this Responsible Sourcing Policy, either intentionally, repeatedly, in a manner that we reasonably consider to be serious and unlikely to be capable of remediation, or in circumstances where we reasonably consider that the supplier cannot or will not take actions to demonstrate compliance within an agreed timeframe, we shall be entitled to terminate our agreement(s) with that supplier by written notice.

Manta Trust support

With the new Patravi ScubaTec Black Manta Special Edition, Carl F. Bucherer pursues its support of the Manta Trust charity. The brand has already contributed in a number of ways over the years – for instance by sponsoring satellite tags to track the movements of manta rays and funding an educational film.

Recycled PET watch strap

The rubber strap of the watches is made from recycled plastic bottles recovered from the Mediterranean Sea. The fabric used in the distinctive natural rubber strap of the Patravi ScubaTec Black Manta Special Edition is composed entirely of recycled bottles recovered from the Mediterranean.

Certified pre-owned watches

In December 2022, Bucherer became the first official Rolex Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) dealer. Bucherer’s significant presence in the second-hand market has since added an intriguing dimension to Rolex’s strategy, positioning the brand to play a more active role in shaping this increasingly important segment of the industry.
