Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC) presents sustainability as part of its role as Canada’s bank for entrepreneurs. In 2022, it launched a sustainability framework covering workforce, workplace, marketplace and community, aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. BDC says it is helping entrepreneurs build greener, more inclusive and prosperous businesses, while also reducing its own operational footprint and supporting a clean, low-carbon, circular economy. Its sustainability content focuses on financing, advice, tools, reporting, diversity and Indigenous reconciliation, with a stated aim of supporting small and medium-sized businesses in Canada’s transition to a more sustainable future.
