Capital Group says that environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues are embedded into its investment approach, The Capital System™. The firm analyses material ESG risks and opportunities at the individual issuer level, using research and investment frameworks, a monitoring process, and engagement and proxy voting. It states that its investment professionals and ESG specialists research topics with potential implications for long-term investment risks and opportunities. Capital Group also says it has more than 40 ESG professionals and 25+ sector-specific frameworks, and that ESG analysis is part of its long-term, bottom-up research process.
