C&R Imports Sustainability Actions

Verified product carbon footprint

C&R Interiors says it has achieved SS ISO 14067 verification for the product carbon footprint of its products. ISO 14067 is a standard for measuring the greenhouse gases linked to a product across its life cycle. The company says this makes it one of the first office furniture makers in Southeast Asia to disclose product-level carbon emissions. It presents this as a way to improve transparency and support clients that need ESG data.

Designs for reuse and recycling

The company says it designs furniture so it can be taken apart and recycled more easily. It also says manufacturing leftovers such as wood off-cuts, laminate, and metal are repurposed or recycled instead of being thrown away. This points to a circular economy approach, which means keeping materials in use for as long as possible and reducing waste.

Uses lower-emission materials

C&R Interiors says it uses materials such as E0 grade melamine boards, ENF+ grade laminate tops, FSC-certified wood, and GREENGUARD-certified furniture. E0 and ENF+ are low-formaldehyde standards, which means the materials give off less of a chemical linked to indoor air problems. FSC certification means the wood comes from forests managed to environmental and social rules. GREENGUARD checks chemical emissions from products to help improve indoor air quality.

Improved energy use in factories

The company says it has upgraded machinery and improved workflows to cut energy use in manufacturing. It also says these changes were made without raising prices for customers. This suggests it is trying to lower the environmental impact of production while keeping its products competitive.

Retains and develops staff

C&R Interiors says it invests in staff development by sending employees to industry events and sharing what they learn across teams. It also says it prefers to develop existing staff rather than replace them, and that it kept workers during difficult periods instead of making layoffs. This shows a people-focused approach to employment and skills building.

Publishes ESG reporting

The company says it produces an annual sustainability report and uses GRI (Global Reporting Initiative, a common reporting framework) and SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, a set of industry-focused reporting standards). It also says the report is assured by an independent third party. That means someone outside the company checks the data, which can make the reporting more reliable.
