Restricted substances compliance

Committed to producing products free from restricted substances. As of January 1, 2025, Dakine is operating in compliance with California’s Assembly Bill 1817, which prohibits the manufacture, distribution, and sale of new textile articles containing intentionally added PFAS.

Use of preferred materials

Leverage recycled (repurposed), recyclable, and/or preferred materials without sacrificing product integrity or durability. Preferred materials: A fiber or raw material that delivers consistently reduced impacts and increased benefits for climate, nature, and people against the conventional equivalent, through a holistic approach to transforming production systems – Textile Exchange.

Dakine works with suppliers + manufacturing partners who committed to product sustainability + responsibility in the following: Environment + Climate, Preferred Materials, Restricted Chemicals, Water + Energy Consumption, Social, Fair + Safe Supply Chains, Manufacturer’s Code of Conduct, Animal Welfare, Humane treatment of animals for any animal-derived products.

Community activations

Recent community and / or philanthropic activations: Los Angeles & Maui Wildfire Relief product donations; Boarding for Breast Cancer Collections. A portion of proceeds support B4BC in the fight against cancer; Los Angeles County Department of Public Social Services back to school backpack drive; Glove for Gloves product collection + donation program.
