Danone Baltics Sustainability Actions

Reframed sustainability roadmap

As part of the Renew Danone strategy, in 2023, we reframed our sustainability roadmap as the Danone Impact Journey. This roadmap, which grounds our commitments as a "Société à Mission" and a B Corp, is articulated around three pillars: Health, Nature, and People & Communities.

Achieved B Corp certification

Since 2015, we have also embarked in a B Corp journey, that we have achieved in 2025, being now fully B Corp certified across the world.

Set methane reduction target

One way we’re doing this is by setting ambitious targets, e.g., to reduce methane emissions from fresh milk, being the first company, in 2023, to do so.

Improving water access

We’re also developing plans to preserve and restore watersheds in high water-stressed areas where we operate by 2030, and use our 4R approach (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Reclaim) in all our production sites.

Reduced food waste goal

That’s why we’ve set the goal of reducing food waste by 50% by 2030, compared to 2020 levels, in line with the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goal 12.3.

External ESG recognition

Danone’s commitments and achievements regarding its sustainability priorities are externally assessed. Danone remains a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series following the July 2024 index review. In 2024, Danone was awarded “Prime” Status by the ISS ESG Corporate Rating. Danone was ranked 1st in the Global Access to Nutrition Index 2024.
