APCO Packaging Stewardship - Member since 2023

As part of Unicharm Australasia, Delectables contributes to a packaging stewardship program guided by APCO’s Sustainable Packaging Guidelines. These guidelines cover packaging design, material efficiency, recyclability, recycled content, litter prevention and recovery at end-of-life. Unicharm Australasia’s 2025 APCO reporting received a packaging performance level of 4, or “Leading”, demonstrating progress beyond basic membership requirements. All Unicharm Packaging across our many brands is evaluated for recycling within Australia and targets best practice towards our circular economy, including recycled content already in some of our packs.

Committing to eliminate modern slavery

Unicharm implements procurement activities with a focus on crisis management in addition to communication in supply chains throughout the world in response to dramatic changes in awareness and regulations relating to human rights and the environment. In addition, Unicharm conducts a supplier risk assessment when starting new business transactions overseas to determine in advance whether a potential supplier is an appropriate business partner.

Product-Level Ingredient Transparency

Delectables publishes ingredients and calorie information for its cat treats on product pages and directs consumers to the product packaging for complete nutritional details. This supports informed purchasing and responsible feeding by helping cat owners understand the ingredients, nutritional content and intended use of each product. Delectables treats are intended for intermittent and supplemental feeding only, rather than as a complete everyday diet.

Grain-Free Treat Options

Delectables offers selected lickable cat treats made without grains, added fillers, by-products or artificial preservatives. These formulations give consumers additional choice when selecting treats for cats with different preferences or dietary requirements. Product claims should be assessed by individual range, because not every Delectables product should automatically be assumed to have identical ingredients or nutritional characteristics.

Responsible supply chain transparency

Delectables publishes supply-chain transparency information through its California Transparency in Supply Chains disclosure. The disclosure outlines the manufacturing company’s approach to addressing slavery and human-trafficking risks in its supply chain.

Delectables provides online product education covering flavours, formats, ingredients, calorie information and life-stage options, including products for senior cats. Clear feeding guidance helps consumers use treats appropriately and reduces the risk of treats replacing a cat’s complete and balanced diet.
