Delta Sustainability Actions

Circular packaging strategy

Every year, we work across functions to identify and implement initiatives that deliver both financial and environmental gains. That is why we engage the wider industry by partnering with suppliers, retailers and startups with breakthrough climate solutions. Our circular packaging strategy helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions, through light weighting, recycling and reuse of materials.

Smart agriculture support

We take a farmer-centric approach to supporting sustainable agriculture. We use our direct and local connections with farmers, secured through our agronomists and researchers and the various partners providing seed, and inputs on the ground. The interventions are aimed at providing access to improved crop varieties, training, insights and timely information for better decision-making and appropriate financial tools.

Water stewardship

We commit to using the water resource sparingly. Creating tailored solutions to address the local, complex water challenges around the world. Innovation will help unlock higher water efficiency and improved water security. Partnerships and multi-stakeholder collaboration are critical for scaling impact.

Climate action focus

Climate change has far-reaching consequences for our business and the communities where we live and work, from water scarcity and energy constraints to reduced food security and increased health risks. Our own factory emissions, the packaging, and trade refrigeration of beverages, all have a significant carbon footprint. We therefore strive for a cleaner world where natural resources are shared and preserved for the future.

Supplier sustainability ratings

The three SAI founding members collectively rated more than 700 suppliers upon the initiative’s founding in March 2023. SAI plans to expand this number to gain greater insight into the sustainability performance of its supply chain and drive maximum improvement.
