Developed Beaver Tenancy Association

The Beaver Tenancy Association (BTA) approach was developed by the Ecosulis innovation team during the summer of 2019 in the context of thinking through blockchain applications in conservation. The idea is to conceive beavers as new countryside residents in need of land to settle, cultivate and raise their families, with the BTA securing, negotiating and managing tenancy agreements with landowners on behalf of beavers.

Responded to beaver consultation

On 15 November 2021, Ecosulis published responses to the UK Government’s 12-week public consultation on beaver reintroduction in England. It supported a faster-paced option for beaver reintroduction and said the existing beaver populations represent new cultural assets for nature recovery.

Achieved B Corporation status

Ecosulis achieved Certified B Corporation status in September 2022, after a two-year assessment process. The certification was described as affirming the company’s commitment to balancing profit with purpose in environmental and social impact.

Invested in biodiversity tools

Since 2014, the firm has invested in technological innovations, including advanced biodiversity calculators developed by Dr. Alan Feest, to measure ecological success more precisely.
