We have been mapping habitats ever since we started, pioneering the use of satellite technology to map everything from grassland to woodland to coastal heath and limestone pavement. We provide inventories and baselining as well as ongoing monitoring for the terrestrial, coastal and marine environment.

Developed SENCE for natural capital

Environment Systems has developed new methods for modelling and mapping Ecosystem Services at regional and national scales. We now deliver this under our SENCE (Spatial Evidence for Natural Capital Evaluation) brand.

We have delivered environmental monitoring worldwide for hundreds of clients in over 40 countries for over 20 years, assisting government, third sector and commercial business to build evidence for informed policymaking and resource management.

We operate both quality and environmental management systems and are a carbon balanced company. Environment Systems has an Environment Management System (EMS) which is accredited to BS8555:2016 Phase 2.

Worked on nature recovery networks

Nature Recovery Networks in NI. Habitat loss and fragmentation are factors driving biodiversity decline on a global scale. Partnered with Woodland Trust

Environment Systems is proud to celebrate its 20-year partnership with the Woodland Trust, the UK’s leading woodland conservation charity. Our first collaboration was to develop “Woods for People,” a database of accessible woodlands in the UK.
