The Environmental Performance Index (EPI) is a data-driven assessment tool that ranks 180 countries on their environmental performance across 58 indicators spanning 11 issue categories. These categories include climate change mitigation, air pollution, waste management, ecosystem vitality, biodiversity and habitat protection, and marine protection. The EPI serves as a policy tool supporting progress toward UN Sustainable Development Goals and the Paris Agreement targets.
