Aligned CSR policy with ESG criteria

We have aligned our policy with the environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria defined originally by the United Nations in the Principles for Responsible Investment in 2006, as well as our company objectives.

Reduced waste and energy use

We aim to reduce the energy and water that we consume, limit the waste that we produce, especially paper waste, source energy from renewable sources, where possible, recycle the waste products that we cannot yet eliminate, consider the carbon impact of digital technology, and travel less and where unavoidable, travel sustainably.

Set supplier standards

We require our suppliers to demonstrate ethical working practices, good working conditions and respect for their people, excellent health, safety, environmental and quality standards, good management systems and respect for personal data, and an open and honest relationship.

Used recycled plastics

Post Consumer Recycled plastics are used to dramatically reduce the use of virgin materials, the CO2 footprint of the remote control is minimized and UEI is actively exploring implementing Post Consumer Recycled (PCR) plastics in our production chain.

Launched refurbishment program

UEI launched a new program: Like New, which results in getting products back from the field, recycling the plastic parts, testing and reusing the electrical components. UEI updates the software, re-assembles the product, and perform tests to ensure that the product has the same characteristics as the original product.

Redesigned packaging

UEI received the packaging Innovations Award for our retail products. Our team redesigned the packaging to zero plastic. The amount of PET (protective film & poly bag) saved is more than 19.000 kg per year.

Improved manufacturing efficiency

Since 2018, we have progressively strengthened our environmental responsibility by reducing material waste, improving energy efficiency across manufacturing operations, and promoting responsible logistics and community-focused initiatives.

Installed EV charger

We have installed an EV charger on our premises to support the shift towards electric mobility.
