Faherty Sustainability Actions

B Corp certification

Faherty Brand has achieved B Corporation™ certification. This marks a significant milestone in its commitment to social and environmental responsibility. To become a B Corp™, a company must undergo a rigorous assessment that covers practices pertaining to governance, workers, community, environment and customers.

Responsible materials in 2024

In 2024, 72% of our fibers were responsible materials as defined by the “Responsible Materials” section of our Impact Report. 70% of our cotton is organic, recycled, Good Earth Cotton®, or Supima® Cotton. 88% of our polyester is recycled polyester. 84% of our linen is EUROPEAN FLAX® certified (the fibers are traceable and grown in Western Europe). 75% of our viscose/rayon is responsibly sourced & certified.

Plastic bags eliminated

Since 2021, our partnership with Vela™ has eliminated 11M+ plastic bags.

Second Wave resale savings

In 2024, Second Wave, our resale platform, has saved 9.57 tons of carbon, 79,420 gallons of water, 29,460 pounds of clothing from entering landfills, and 13,488 kilowatts of energy. Our partner Tersus Solutions uses a unique technology to clean garments before resale and this saves water, energy and carbon emissions.

Renewable energy credits

We purchase renewable energy credits to cover 100% of the electricity used by our stores. These RECs are Green-E Certified and support local, smaller solar projects and wind farms that promote biodiversity with pollination and grazing environments.

Native designer partnerships

Since 2017, we’ve partnered with 6 native artists and designers to celebrate Native culture, end appropriation, and return resources to Native Communities.

Community donations

In 2023, we donated to charitable causes, including The Surfrider Foundation, 1% for the Planet, FabScrap, The Center, Laru Beya, and more.

Supplier transparency system

Faherty uses Retraced to manage supplier onboarding and engagement, starting with a 38-question survey that builds a complete supplier profile inside the system. The platform helps filter out suppliers who aren’t aligned with our impact values and provides cross-functional visibility for product and risk teams.
