Launched first GAMEPLAN

Our formal responsibility journey began in late 2019 with the launch of the first GANNI GAMEPLAN, a strategic framework outlining our commitments across four key pillars: people, planet, product, and prosperity. It marked a significant shift in how we embed responsibility into every part of our business, from design and sourcing to climate action and community impact.

Published annual reports

Each year, we publish a Responsibility Report to provide a transparent, in-depth look at our progress, not to seek praise, but to openly share both our wins and our challenges.

Cut carbon emissions

We achieved a 7% absolute reduction in carbon emissions from a 2021 baseline, marking significant progress in our environmental impact, while the brand has seen an annual growth rate of 18% since 2021.

Phased out virgin leather

A milestone for us last year was following through on a decision to phase out virgin leather from our collections, a choice informed by the material’s significant carbon footprint.

Expanded living wage work

The living wage initiative remains a cornerstone of our social commitments, with all contractual tier 1 suppliers expected to be onboarded in living wage initiatives by 2025. Through our Living Wage Initiative, 63% of our suppliers are now paying a living wage, either through us or independently.

Installed supplier solar panels

We installed solar panels with two new suppliers, further enhancing our carbon insetting strategy to a total of four suppliers. In 2024, this included solar panel installations at four supplier facilities.

Created Carbon Squad

Internally, we’ve mobilised a carbon squad focused on carbon reduction, spreading across all company departments. This cross-functional effort is crucial for driving meaningful change, and we’ve even tied our senior management's bonuses to our carbon targets.

Launched repair partnership

In 2021, as part of GANNI’s circular business model strategy, we launched a collaboration with UK-based repair partner Sojo to offer our UK community free repairs and alterations. Since then, customer engagement and the number of repairs have skyrocketed.

Opened resale stores

In 2024, our main focus was to increase consumer awareness of our in-store resale model at the POSTMODERN archive stores in Copenhagen and Oslo, introduced in 2021 and 2024, respectively. The results have been outstanding: 2,827 and 611 pre-loved items have been given a second life.
