Globe describes its sustainability approach as “Living Low Velocity,” saying it has stepped off the fast fashion treadmill and is focused on producing premium evergreen clothing for the modern explorer. The brand says it uses more sustainable fibres, tests clothing for fit, function and durability, and aims to make quality clothing that lasts. Its sustainability content highlights the use of organic cotton, recycled polyester, Cocotex® coconut polyester, PFOA-free durable water repellent, PVC- and phthalate-free inks, and YKK Natulon® recycled tapings. It also says more than 97% of the collection is delivered in FSC-certified paper garment bags rather than plastic polybags.

Globe Sustainability Actions

Used organic cotton

For our first Low Velocity range, all cotton stock was sourced from organic yarn and future ranges will carry more explicit certification.

Used recycled polyester

Using recycled polyester fibres made from material like plastic bottles (rPET) instead of virgin polyester, we’re preventing wasteful landfill, saving energy and reducing the need for the primary extraction of crude oil.

Introduced Cocotex® fibre

COCOTEX® upcycles coconut husks into activated carbon that is then mixed with polyester, creating a fast drying, odour resistant yarn.
