FOUR4FREE: Supporting Solar Grid Contribution

GloBird Energy’s FOUR4FREE plan gives customers, including those without solar panels, four hours of completely free electricity each day during the midday period, when solar generation on the grid is typically at its highest. This innovative plan is designed to encourage households to shift energy use to times of peak renewable supply, helping reduce demand on fossil fuel generators and lowering the overall cost and carbon intensity of the grid. From July 2026, a government-mandated version of this model will extend across millions of Australian households.

ZeroHero Virtual Power Plant (VPP)

GloBird Energy’s ZeroHero plan was specifically built for residential battery customers who are keen to join a flexible Virtual Power Plant program. The plan allows customers with home batteries to earn credits by discharging stored solar energy back to the grid during periods of peak demand. By aggregating household batteries into a connected network, GloBird helps stabilise the grid, reduce pressure during evening peak periods, and support the use of stored renewable energy at times when the grid may otherwise rely more heavily on fossil fuel generation.

Educating Customers on Sustainable Energy

GloBird Energy recently released its new Energy Guru, a digital tool designed to help customers navigate practical energy-saving tips tailored to their individual circumstances. Through its blog and Medium channel, GloBird actively publishes accessible energy education content to help Australian households better understand solar, batteries, feed-in tariffs, VPPs and energy efficiency. GloBird also keeps customers informed about relevant government programs, such as the Cheaper Home Batteries Program.
