Cut carbon footprint by 2%

In 2024, Gousto dropped its total carbon footprint by 2% to 330,508 tCO2e. It also became the first recipe box globally to have its near term, FLAG and net zero targets officially validated by the Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi).

Reduced operational food waste

Fighting food waste is one of Gousto’s founding principles. In 2024, it hit its ambitious goal to halve operational food waste six years ahead of schedule, reducing it by 65% compared with its 2022 baseline.

Donated surplus food

Gousto diverted 74 tonnes of food, the equivalent of 175,000 meals, with the help of FareShare, bringing it past the 2 million meal milestone since the partnership began.

Reported packaging recyclability

Gousto said its packaging was 74% recyclable in 2024, the same as in 2023. It also said that if recyclability were measured by weight, its packaging would be 97% recyclable.

Improved healthy recipe share

In 2024, 39% of Gousto’s recipes met its healthy standards, up from 37% in 2023, and the company said it was working to grow that number.

Donated to charities

In 2024, Gousto donated £59,000 to charities through Giving at Gousto, its Payroll Giving & Matching Scheme. It also launched the Giving at Gousto Council to drive engagement with its Staff Charity Fund.

Gousto reduced its gender pay gap by 78% year-on-year, down to 1.04%.
