Grow Good Sustainability Actions

Urban agriculture since 2011

Since 2011, GrowGood has been working at the intersection of food justice, environmental sustainability, holistic wellness, and job readiness by using urban agriculture to provide access to high-quality produce, jobs, skills training, and nature-based mindfulness programs for communities in the highest-need and lowest-service areas.

Transformed a vacant lot

Since 2011, GrowGood has transformed a vacant lot into a thriving regenerative urban farm that helps provide fresh produce to more than 1,500 food-insecure individuals each week across Los Angeles.

Veterans Garden partnership

The Veterans Garden is a unique partnership between GrowGood and the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, transforming 15 acres into a regenerative farm that provides fresh produce, workforce development opportunities, and therapeutic green space for Veterans.

Produce distribution to Veterans

The harvest is distributed directly to food-insecure Veterans through the West LA VA Food Hub and a weekly free farm stand at the Veteran Peer Center, expanding access to fresh, healthy food where it’s needed most.

Veteran workforce training

The Veterans Garden is also a workforce training program, where Veterans are earning income, building job skills, and gaining hands-on experience in regenerative agriculture, while being part of a supportive community.
