Science Based Targets Emissions Reduction

Gymshark has set emissions reduction targets backed by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), committing to reduce supply chain emissions by 54% per unit sold and own-operations emissions by 40% by 2030. In FY24, the brand's Solihull campus transitioned to 100% renewable electricity, and sea freight now accounts for 83% of all shipments — a deliberate shift from air freight to reduce transport-related emissions.

Shared Fitness Supply Chain Audit Programme

Gymshark launched its bespoke supplier programme, Shared Fitness, in 2023, covering ethical, environmental, and technical standards across its supply chain. All suppliers are required to adhere to the Gymshark Code of Conduct, and between November 2023 and March 2025, the company completed 174 Shared Fitness audits — resulting in 105 individual factory grades improving from lower ratings (C/D) to higher ratings (A/B). Gymshark also became a signatory to the International Accord, with 100% of its Tier 1 factories in Bangladesh registered under the Accord for accident prevention and health and safety enhancement.

Waste Diversion & Product Circularity Pilot

In FY24, Gymshark launched a circular product pilot in North America that prevented 266,000 lbs of product from going to landfill — with 59% donated to charities and 41% recycled. Gymshark also partnered with waste management firm Veolia to divert waste from landfill across all UK sites, and collaborates with First Mile to recycle eight separate material streams at its Birmingham headquarters including textiles, packaging, and food
