Hanky Panky presents its sustainability work around waste reduction, textile recycling, packaging changes, and material sourcing. The company launched Lingeriecycle® in 2018 to recycle bras and panties, and also sends textile waste from manufacturing to Green Tree for recycling into insulation. It says it designs thoughtfully to maximize fabric usage and minimize waste, and has packaging goals that include tree-free or FSC paper, recycled or sustainable pulp for hangtags, biodegradable hang tag attachments, and phasing out metallic foil printing. It also references responsibly grown cotton, low-impact dyes, and certified yarns.

Hanky Panky Sustainability Actions

Launched Lingeriecycle®

In 2018, we launched Lingeriecycle®, a Hanky Panky program to recycle bras and panties. We partner with Green Tree, a non-profit organization dedicated to stopping all unwanted post-consumer textile material from entering landfills. Garments are shredded to create fibers for industrial insulation (metal and plastic components are separated for recycling.)

Recycles manufacturing waste

Along with our Lingeriecycle® program, we also send the textile waste from our manufacturing process to Green Tree to be recycled into insulation. We recycle where we can and we also design thoughtfully to efficiently maximize fabric usage and minimize waste.

Supports tree planting

Our customers have planted thousands of trees with One Tree Planted. This environmental non-profit tree-planting charity plants trees in countries around the world.
