Interactive device for coworkers, Madrid. Design & fabrication: HDFaber. Location: Madrid Head Quarters. Año: 2018. Status: Built. The piece was described as mobile, customizable and interactive, and the materialization was said to be “recyclable and removable”, with assemblies designed among all its parts.

Recycling in the process

HDFaber says it approaches its digital transformation “asumiendo la fabricación y el reciclaje dentro de un mismo proceso, junto con el diseño”. It also states that it incorporates the technology optimal for each process and includes machinery for the “fundido y transformación de plástico reciclado”.

HDF Playground workshop

HDF Playground 1000m2 is described as a “espacio transdisciplinar dedicado al diseño, prototipado y fabricación digital”. The workshop includes CNC cutting, 3D printers, large-format printing and other fabrication equipment, and the update is presented as a step from a maker space to a workshop of digital artisans with industrial capacity.

Horizontal project method

HDfaber says it has “una estructura absolutamente Horizontal” and that the person who leads a project draws, visualizes, prototypes, final-artworks and cuts in the workshop. It says this way “no se pierde información y se gana calidad, eficiencia y productividad”.
