Backed regional climate programs

ClimateWorks supports regionally based programs in China, Indonesia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States, as well as global and transnational initiatives.

Provided core support grants

ClimateWorks collaborates with and provides core support grants to a global network of regional partners whose missions align with ours. These organizations play a central role in developing portfolios of philanthropic investments designed to achieve large-scale greenhouse gas emissions reductions.

Funded climate policy work

The grants database includes support for protecting and expanding climate policies of development finance and export credit agencies, establishing monitoring systems for the International Monetary Fund's climate policy commitments, and promoting financial regulations that build climate resiliency and mitigate climate risk.

Supported transport decarbonization

Transportation grants included support for European aviation communications, ambitious carbon pricing for the aviation sector, policy and certification of sustainable aviation fuels, the Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Strike Force, and accelerating the electrification of regional haul trucking.

Supported clean energy transition

Power grants included continued support to build and strengthen a decarbonization strategies team, support for COP26 energy compacts and the Energy Transition Campaign, and continued support for the transition to clean energy in Australia.

Funded climate finance initiatives

Finance grants included support for the development of a green bank design platform, the Climate Action 100+ Technical Advisory Group, the Investor Agenda, the Center for Climate Aligned Finance, and analytical support for Climate Action 100+ investor engagement.
