Intrepid Travel presents itself as a responsible travel company with a long-standing focus on climate action, community benefit and transparency. It became carbon neutral in 2010 and a B Corp in 2018, and it reports emissions annually in its Integrated Annual Report. In 2025, it reset its climate approach, moving away from carbon offsetting and the Science Based Targets initiative toward a Climate Impact Fund and accelerated decarbonisation plan. The company also uses carbon labels on trips, supports community projects through The Intrepid Foundation, and says it aims to make travel more inclusive, equitable and lower impact.

Intrepid Travel Sustainability Actions

Carbon neutral and B Corp

Since 2005, Intrepid has aspired to be a leader in climate-conscious travel. We became carbon neutral in 2010 and certified our commitment to doing good by becoming a B Corp in 2018.

Carbon labels on trips

Since then, we've added carbon labels to more than 800 trips to help our travellers make informed decisions. Our emissions are reported transparently every year in our Integrated Annual Report.

Climate action reset

In 2025, we announced a reset in our approach to climate action, shifting away from carbon offsetting and the Science Based Targets initiative towards a $2 million Climate Impact Fund and an accelerated decarbonisation plan.

Supplier and operations work

Global partnership with the UN Global Compact’s SME & Procurement program, giving suppliers access to the SPARK sustainability platform. Accommodation emissions reporting tool launching in 2025. Grants for supplier renewable energy and EV adoption in high-volume destinations. Expanding EV transfers in trips.

Rail and lower-carbon trips

Last year, we introduced a new range of trips dedicated to rail travel, bringing together over 40 itineraries, including three brand-new adventures. These responsible rail journeys allow travellers to slow down and enjoy the ride. They also contribute to our global decarbonisation plans, which include replacing internal flights on our trips with less carbon-intensive options where it makes sense.
