Published inaugural ESG report

In April 2021, Stewart Information Services Corporation published its first Environmental, Social and Governance report. The report was presented as a summary of the company’s initiatives and progress across environmental impact, social commitment, and governance. The company said the publication reflected a broader effort to manage the business transparently and to align sustainability work with its long-term operating strategy.

Expanded remote closing tools

During 2020, Stewart implemented drive-through closing, remote online notarization, and remote ink notarization to support customers and employees through the COVID-19 period. The company described these digital processes as part of its response to the pandemic and as a way to maintain service continuity while reducing in-person contact. The same tools also appear in its sustainability narrative as part of its broader move toward lower-impact transaction methods.

Tracked environmental reductions

Stewart states that its sustainability work includes reducing paper use through digital and remote signings, partnering with environmentally responsible vendors, and tracking emissions and recycled resources. In its 2025 sustainability summary, the company said paper recycling and digital document signings contributed to more than 1.3 million pounds of CO2 reduction, and that more than 235,000 remote notarizations avoided vehicle travel associated with those signings.

Invested in employee wellbeing

The company reported several workforce-focused actions in 2025, including expanded access to high-quality care, stronger family and women’s health support, more flexible U.S. time off options, and an enhanced global wellness program. It also expanded financial wellness offerings, improved retirement programs, and increased employee engagement with LinkedIn Learning to more than 90% of global employees.

Increased community support

Stewart said it expanded the reach of its foundation in 2025, with aggregate donations of $1.2 million to more than 940 organizations and 119 students. The company also reported 20,780 volunteer hours from 1,790 employees, representing a year-over-year increase. These activities were presented as part of its community and social responsibility efforts.
