John Bartlett Sustainability Actions

Launched Tiny Tim Rescue Fund

The designer officially launched the Tiny Tim Rescue Fund, a nonprofit 501(c)3 in 2012. The Tiny Tim Rescue Fund helps support independent rescue groups across the country who are doing the heavy lifting of advocating for homeless dogs so that they may find their forever homes. The Tiny Tim Rescue Fund helps these independent rescue groups with everything from medical needs, transportation, training, and temporary boarding.

Showed cruelty-free menswear

Bartlett was also a winner of the 2011 CFDA/Lexus Eco-Fashion Challenge and made fashion week history with the debut of the first ever eco-luxe, 100 percent cruelty-free menswear collection at New York Fashion Week in February 2012.

Used recycled and organic materials

But more recently the talented designer’s focus has been less on sensuality and more on sustainability, working only with organic and recycled materials, eschewing animal skins and establishing his own nonprofit Tiny Tim Rescue Fund, which raises money for independent shelters and the medical care needed to help these dogs and cats find permanent homes.

Created vegan accessories with Unshattered

For his newest accessory launch, John Bartlett turned to Unshattered.org, a non-profit with the mission of “providing pathways toward sustained sobriety and economic independence” via learning new skills by making handbags. The bags and other accessories are completely vegan and made with deadstock fabric printed with Bartlett’s signature Tiny Tim camouflage.

Hosted sustainability curriculum talks

Parsons School of Design - The New School hosted an inspiring closed door round table in partnership with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) and the Global Fashion Agenda to discuss and identify where education and industry can partner to elevate and advance sustainable fashion curriculum for our next generation of leaders.
