Koh on Track to Recover More Than 2 Million Ocean-Bound Plastic Bottles

Koh is on track to recover more than 2 million ocean-bound plastic bottles by the end of 2026 through our ongoing plastic recovery initiative. By funding the collection of plastic before it reaches our oceans, we're helping reduce marine pollution while supporting communities involved in waste collection and recycling. To mark Plastic Free July, we're doubling our impact by recovering twice as many ocean-bound plastic bottles for every customer order placed throughout the campaign. This initiative allows our customers to contribute to cleaner oceans simply by choosing Koh, demonstrating how everyday purchasing decisions can create meaningful environmental change at scale.

Launching Personal Care with Koh Body Care

Koh is expanding its commitment to healthier homes with the launch of our new Hand & Body Wash. Developed with the same philosophy that underpins our home cleaning range, the formulation is fragrance-free, gentle on sensitive skin and designed with sustainability in mind, providing a simple, effective choice that's better for people and the planet. Our Hand & Body Wash has also received Eczema Association Australasia endorsement, providing independent recognition that the product is suitable for sensitive and eczema-prone skin. Combined with a thoughtful formulation that avoids unnecessary ingredients, this endorsement gives customers confidence they are choosing a product that prioritises both skin health and everyday performance. By extending our sustainability principles into personal care, Koh continues to make it easier for households to choose products that are kinder to their skin, their homes and the environment.

Building the world’s first Sponge Garden

We’re super proud to partner with Community Gardens Australia to launch the world’s first Sponge Garden. Using Koh’s 100% biodegradable Dish Sponges (made from wood pulp) we’ve designed a layered garden bed. The self watering design reduces water usage and creates a happier home for your plants! The sponges act as water retention, feeding your plant, until being composted over time, breaking down and turning into plant food.

Unboxing a Smarter Clean

In our journey to make every clean a cleaner choice for the planet, we made a bold switch: transitioning all Koh solutions to Bag-in-Box (BiB) packaging. This change isn’t just about packaging, it’s about purpose. Bag in Box uses up to 85% less plastic than traditional rigid containers. It’s lighter to transport, reducing emissions, and designed for efficient storage and reuse at home. By making this shift across our entire range, we’re significantly cutting down on plastic waste and carbon output, without compromising on quality, convenience, or care.

Closing the Loop on Plastic

Every Koh order is more than a delivery, it’s a commitment to circularity. For every order placed, we collect and recycle up to three plastic bottles on behalf of our customers. This initiative tackles the plastic problem at its root, redirecting waste from landfills and oceans into responsible recycling streams. By turning consumption into collection, we’re helping reduce the environmental burden of plastic and encouraging a system where packaging doesn’t end up as pollution. It's one small act per order, creating a big impact over time, because clean shouldn’t leave a mess behind.

Reduce: More people buying less for a bigger impact

We challenge the cleaning industry norms that insist we need a cupboard-full of unnecessary products to effectively clean your home. Koh cleaning solutions are truly universal, doing the job of many so you can do more, with less. Other cleaning brands don’t want you to know that buying less is the very best we can do to protect our planet.

Koh Team Supports Local Environment for Clean Up Australia Day

As part of our sustainability efforts, the Koh team participated in Clean Up Australia Day by visiting a local park near our office. The team spent the afternoon removing litter and helping restore the natural environment, contributing to a cleaner and more enjoyable community space. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and creating positive local impact.

Designed to Be Reused, Built to Last

At Koh, we’re committed to fighting waste from the ground up, starting with the tools we use to clean. Our cleaning systems are intentionally designed to be reused over and over again, replacing the cycle of disposable tools and poor-quality alternatives that often end up in landfill. By investing in longevity and repairability, we empower customers to clean smarter and reduce their environmental footprint, less waste, fewer replacements, and no single-use plastics.

Refill, Don’t Rebuy

Koh has successfully transitioned its entire product line to refillable containers, a major step forward in reducing single-use plastic and promoting circular use habits in homes across Australia. Every bottle, spray, and solution is now designed with refillability in mind, allowing customers to top up their existing packaging rather than replacing it. This shift not only minimises plastic waste and landfill contribution, but also reduces the carbon footprint associated with producing and transporting new containers. By encouraging long-term use of durable packaging and offering efficient bulk refills, we’re making it easier than ever for households to clean responsibly, with less waste, fewer emissions, and no compromise on performance.

Eco-certified, Backed by GECA

At Koh, we believe clean should be better for your home and the planet, which is why we’ve taken action to ensure every single one of our cleaning products is certified by GECA (Good Environmental Choice Australia). GECA is Australia’s most trusted independent ecolabel, assessing products across health, environmental, and ethical criteria. This certification confirms that all Koh solutions are free from harmful ingredients, safe for greywater and septic use, and manufactured with reduced environmental impact, including lower sodium levels to protect soil and water health. It also ensures compliance with ethical labour and sustainable manufacturing standards. GECA certification holds us accountable to the highest standards, because we don’t believe in shortcuts when it comes to clean.

Clean Clothes, Stronger Communities

In early 2025, Koh proudly donated 1,000 units of our eco-certified Laundry Liquid Pouches to Remote Laundries, a charitable initiative by the Aboriginal Investment Group (AIG) that brings free, purpose-built laundromats to remote Aboriginal communities across the Northern Territory. These laundries do more than clean clothes, they combat serious health issues like scabies, staph infections, and rheumatic heart disease, all of which are linked to overcrowding and limited access to washing facilities. With just a few machines and the right detergent, communities can reduce the spread of parasites and bacteria, supporting healthier homes and stronger futures. Our partnership with Remote Laundries helps ensure consistent access to safe, effective, and environmentally friendly detergent, supporting both human wellbeing and planetary health.

Accelerating Ambition from the Inside Out

In 2025, Koh team members are participating in the UN Global Compact Ambition Accelerator, a global training and leadership program designed to help companies set robust, science-based climate targets. By joining this cohort, our team is engaging with sustainability leaders across industries to deepen our understanding of net-zero pathways, Scope 1–3 emissions, and the critical role of business in delivering on the Paris Agreement. This action marks an important step in Koh’s internal capability building, equipping our team with the tools, knowledge, and frameworks to drive meaningful climate action. The learnings from this program directly inform our future commitments, including setting a science-based carbon reduction target and scaling low-emission practices across our supply chain. We’re proud to be part of a global community pushing for business to be a force for climate ambition, not just compliance.

Pitching In with OzHarvest

As part of our ongoing commitment to community and sustainability, members of the Koh team recently volunteered with OzHarvest, Australia’s leading food rescue organisation. From sorting produce to prepping food, our team spent time lending a hand in support of OzHarvest’s mission to reduce food waste and provide meals to people doing it tough. It’s a meaningful way for us to walk the talk, connecting with causes that align with our values of waste reduction, conscious consumption, and giving back. We’re proud to support organisations like OzHarvest that are making a practical difference across Australian communities.

GECA Certification Extended Across Koh's Complete Liquid Cleaning Range

Koh has expanded its Good Environmental Choice Australia (GECA) certified range, with five additional liquid cleaning solutions now achieving certification alongside our already certified Universal Cleaner. This means all six of Koh's liquid cleaning products now meet GECA's rigorous standards for environmental responsibility, human health and product performance. GECA certification provides independent assurance that our products have been assessed against strict sustainability criteria throughout their lifecycle, from ingredients and manufacturing to performance and environmental impact. Achieving certification across our complete liquid cleaning range reinforces Koh's commitment to developing products that are effective, safer for households and better for the environment. By extending certification across our portfolio, we're giving customers greater confidence that every liquid cleaning product they choose from Koh aligns with recognised environmental standards while delivering the cleaning performance they expect.

Wear the Change: Planet Pal Tees for Ocean Cleanup

Every Planet Pal T-shirt from Koh isn’t just a style statement, it’s an action toward a cleaner planet. With every purchase, the equivalent of 100 ocean-bound plastic bottles is collected and removed from coastal environments at high risk of pollution. Made from sustainable materials and designed for everyday wear, these tees raise awareness and fund real-world impact. By choosing to wear your values, you're directly supporting waste recovery efforts that protect marine life, reduce microplastic pollution, and keep our oceans cleaner for future generations. Planet Pal isn’t just a mascot, it’s a movement.

We’ve taken a step to reduce plastic’s impact, both today and over time.

Our new bottles are made with 50% recycled plastic, reducing the need for virgin material. They also include a bio-renewable additive designed to help the material break down at end of life, instead of persisting as microplastics. This isn’t the final answer, but it’s meaningful progress as we continue to design with the full lifecycle in mind.

Redefining Stain Removal Through Safer Innovation

Koh is challenging conventional stain removal with an innovative bleach-free Stain Remover that delivers powerful results without relying on harsh chemicals. Instead of chlorine bleach or oxygen-based bleaching agents, the formula combines advanced surfactants and enzymes to effectively break down and lift a wide range of everyday stains while being gentler on fabrics. Designed with both performance and sustainability in mind, the Stain Remover features a unique foaming spray that clings to fabric rather than running off. This targeted application provides complete coverage of the affected area, allowing the formula to work where it's needed while helping to reduce product waste. As one of the first products of its kind to pair enzyme technology with a bleach-free formulation and precision foaming application, the Koh Stain Remover demonstrates how innovation can deliver exceptional cleaning performance while supporting safer, more responsible product design.
