Brought together 61 organisations

To discuss the impact of climate change on Brazilian workers, Labora – Fund for Decent Work brought together 61 grassroots organizations in Belém, the capital of Pará, a state in the Brazilian Amazon. Over 4 days of activities with workers from various precarious job sectors, participants included app-based workers, domestic workers, waste pickers, extractive workers, sex workers, immigrants, refugees, LGBTQIAPN+ workers, Indigenous, Quilombola, and other local community workers, among others.

Discussed decent work and rights

The meeting was marked by discussions on decent work and how to promote it, considering the intersectionality of race, gender, territory, and identities, which contribute to the inequalities and denial of rights faced by large segments of Brazilian workers.
