LIVSN Sustainability Actions

Durable product design

LIVSN says it chooses high quality materials, builds durability into design with thoughtful stitching and double layering, prioritizes mobility, aims for timeless style, integrates features subtly, and iterates products based on feedback. A recently-made Product Standards Manual ensures these reinforcements are never forgotten and stay consistent across the line.

Preferred materials use

When possible, LIVSN uses Preferred Materials which are majority certified recycled, certified organic, or otherwise innovative and lower impact. The company says 93% of current LIVSN products use primarily Preferred Materials.

PFAS-free DWR finishes

All DWR finishes are PFAS-free, and LIVSN says it is working to implement the Bluesign® Restricted Substances List across its supply chain.

Factory environmental tracking

LIVSN says its primary and tertiary Tier 1 factories are progressing through the Higg Facility Environmental Module, and its secondary Tier 1 factory is LEED v4 Gold certified.

Plastic-free packaging

The company uses plastic-free packaging made primarily of recycled and recyclable materials.

Labor standards and audits

LIVSN seeks out factories with certifications that ensure fair labor practices and living wages. Its secondary Tier 1 factory was WRAP certified through 2023, and the tertiary factory receives SMETA audits. The company says it is working with all suppliers to raise the bar for labor standards and accreditation through collaborative efforts.

Repair and resale services

If clothing fails due to a manufacturer defect, LIVSN will repair, refund, or replace the product at no charge. It also offers at-cost repairs for wear-and-tear damages and operates a resale marketplace called Well Worn Marketplace so customers can list and sell used garments.

Internal environmental policy

LIVSN says it seeks continual improvement throughout its business operations to lessen its impact on the local and global environment by conserving energy, water and other natural resources; reducing waste generation; recycling; and reducing its use of toxic materials.

Employee policies and training

The company says its employee handbook includes a code of ethics, a whistleblower policy, financial support for continuing education, an anti-harassment policy, grievance resolution processes, and other policies that support employees’ rights and opportunities. It also requires all full-time employees to complete DEI training.
