Sustainability Summary
- This is an unclaimed profile. London Olympic Games has not joined Sustainability Tracker to verify their sustainability credentials. We gathered what we could from public sources.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has established a comprehensive Sustainability Strategy covering five inter-related focus areas: infrastructure and natural sites, sourcing and resource management, mobility, and workforce. The strategy framework addresses climate change, waste management, biodiversity, inclusion, and healthy living. London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games were recognized as the most sustainable Games to date, establishing a precedent for sustainable event management. The IOC and Organizing Committees for the Olympic Games (OCOGs) have contributed to the development of ISO 20121, an International Sustainable Event Management System Standard.
