Environmental policy and targets

AIDA formulated the AIDA Environmental Policy in order to advance its environmental protection activities. Based on the above environmental policy, AIDA has established the following medium-term environmental targets and is actively engaged in environmental management activities. Environmental Targets: 1. Maintain compliance with laws and ordinances (air, water, noise, etc.) 2. Promote the recycling of waste materials and stay within current levels. 3. Promote energy conservation. 4. Improve environmental protection initiatives. 5. Develop environmentally friendly products.

Carbon-neutral initiative policy

The Carbon-Neutral Initiative Policy states that AIDA regards environmental measures such as decarbonization, energy conservation, and resource conservation as major business opportunities, and aims to be carbon-neutral by 2050 while striving to solve ESG issues and improve corporate value.

Renewable electricity purchase

In November 2023, AIDA's Sagami, Tsukui, and Shimokuzawa plants began purchasing 100% of their electricity from renewable energy sources by implementing the ‘Green Basic Plan’ (RE100-compliant certified non-fossil fuel electricity) provided by TEPCO Energy Partner, Inc. As a result, CO2 emissions from purchased electricity at the above-mentioned factories will be effectively zero, and this is expected to contribute to an approximately 5000-ton annual reduction in CO2 emissions.

Carbon-offset city gas

In October 2021, AIDA signed a contract with Tokyo Gas to switch the gas used for in-house power generation to carbon-offset city gas. Along with the conversion to carbon-offset city gas, AIDA also joined the Carbon-Offset City Gas Buyers Alliance.

Energy-saving cogeneration

At its headquarters plant in Sagamihara City, AIDA has installed a CGS system together with a Genelink system. As electricity is generated, hot water results as a byproduct, and AIDA uses this hot water for heating and air conditioning in the manufacturing plant and administrative offices, and adjusts thermostats and takes other steps based on air conditioning loads.

Waste and recycling measures

AIDA's environmental policy states that it will eliminate waste products and promote recycling, and its medium-term environmental targets include promoting the recycling of waste materials and staying within current levels.
