Launched charitable foundation

In early 2019, in recognition of Martha's Vineyard Bank's 110th anniversary, James M. Anthony, Martha's Vineyard Bank's President & CEO, together with the Bank's Board of Trustees and Management Team, enthusiastically announced the official launch of the Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation with an initial donation of one million dollars.

Funded Island Food Center

$1 Million Capacity-Building Grant for Island Grown Initiative's New Island Food Center. To help meet the growing needs of the Martha's Vineyard community, Island Grown Initiative was awarded a $1 million grant to construct the Island Food Center. The new facility provides the Island Food Pantry with a permanent home and create essential warehouse and office space for local organizations dedicated to advancing food equity.

Supported affordable housing

MV Future Financing began in 2019 as an initiative with Island Housing Trust to provide low-cost loans to develop housing for low-to-mid income Martha's Vineyard residents. Martha's Vineyard Bank acts as the lead lender, escrow agent, and loan servicer for each participant in the loan.

Backed fishermen's trust

The Martha's Vineyard Fishermen's Preservation Trust was started to help preserve and safeguard Martha's Vineyard's small boat commercial fishing industry and their sustainably harvested catch. Martha's Vineyard Bank Charitable Foundation purchased a five-ton ice machine for Martha's Vineyard Fisherman's Preservation Trust / Martha's Vineyard Seafood Collaborative in 2021.
