Finish RWS wool certification
The brand says it is working on Responsible Wool Standard, or RWS, certification for its wool. RWS is a third-party standard that checks animal welfare and land management in wool supply chains. Independent coverage says that as of early 2025, most Ridge Merino products already use RWS-certified wool, but not all products do yet.

Switch to recycled synthetics
The brand says it is working to replace virgin synthetic fibers with recycled versions. Virgin synthetic fibers are new plastic-based fibers made from fossil fuels. Switching to recycled versions can reduce demand for new plastic, although the final impact depends on how much recycled material is used and how the products are made.

Expand biodegradable clothing
