Newcore was the first dedicated real assets manager to Certify as a B Corp, and has signed up the UN PRI. As a B Corporation, actions to address social, climate and biodiversity challenges are embedded throughout the business, its governance and how it runs its funds.

Published ESG and impact reports

Impact objectives have been set, target outcomes identified and annual reporting integrated into the ESG & impact report. Newcore has published ESG and impact reports for its funds, including the 2022-2023 report and the 2023-2024 report.

Measured fund-level impact

Newcore has identified how its funds impact people and the planet, contribute to meeting the UN’s SDGs and provide strong returns for investors. Through the development of an impact management framework, a theory of change has been established.

Created school places

Across both funds, Newcore has overseen the creation of 3,570 school places, 2,604 of which are children’s nursery places and 326 of which are special educational needs school places.

Set up a foundation

Newcore set up its foundation in 2020 to support charities linked to social and environmental causes, distributing at least 10% of profits each year. Combined with donations and fundraising prior to this, Newcore has now given over ÂŁ700,000 to charity.

Supported pro-bono work

Newcore has instigated and financially supported an industry pro-bono initiative to encourage the use of skills for charities. Over 150 members have donated over ÂŁ700,000 of pro-bono services to The LandAid Pro-bono Programme.

Reduced carbon emissions

Reduce CO2 emissions, aligned to a 1.5% climate pathway, reach Net Zero by 2040 at the latest and a mid term target of 50% carbon intensity reduction by 2030. A clear pathway to net zero for each asset has been established, partially aligning with CRREM 1.5c.

Improved energy efficiency

Refurbishment first approach towards all assets, energy efficiency improved as a priority, resource use and waste minimised. Tenants are financially supported to improve environmental performance through innovative incentives.

Integrated biodiversity

A commitment to bring nature closer to people. Biodiversity is integrated into planning applications and tenants are supported to create and improve natural habitats.
